Oxygen, NIV & Sleep Support

About the service

Oxygen Therapy

You may have been prescribed oxygen therapy by your medical team to help maintain healthy oxygen levels in your blood. This treatment provides extra oxygen through a nasal cannula or face mask, and may be delivered as:

  • Low flow oxygen (nasal cannula or face mask)
  • High flow oxygen (Venturi mask or high-flow nasal cannula)

Oxygen therapy may help reduce breathlessness, improve energy and alertness, and support overall wellbeing. In some cases, exercise testing may be performed to assess oxygen levels during activity. If hypoxaemia (low blood oxygen) is identified, our team may suggest supplementary oxygen be prescribed to you, to ensure safe and effective oxygen levels during rest and exercise.

Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV)

You may also have been prescribed a non-invasive ventilation (NIV) device such as CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) or BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure).

  • CPAP is commonly used for sleep apnoea, where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep
  • BiPAP is used when your body needs more help taking in oxygen and removing carbon dioxide and is typically prescribed by specialist medical teams
  • Both devices deliver air through a mask or nasal pillows, helping you breathe more easily and rest more comfortably

Our team can arrange a clinic or home visit to check your oxygen or NIV equipment, review mask fittings, and ensure your settings are safe and effective. If any adjustments are needed, they will communicate directly with your wider medical team.

Sleep Support

We work with Dr Sudhakar Koduri (Specialist in Respiratory, Sleep and General Medicine) in offering sleep support services include assessment, monitoring, and home-based sleep studies to identify and manage conditions such as obstructive sleep apnoea. These studies ensure you receive the right treatment and support for better sleep quality, breathing, and long-term respiratory health.

If you would like to learn more, speak with our team about completing a ‘Sleep Apnoea Check’ or ask your GP, or specialist to complete an Adult Sleep Study Referral form.
